Lori Sash-Gail Throughout her life, Lori Sash-Gail has always had a heartfelt connection with animals, nature, and particularly with dogs. From the West Coast, where she graduated from UCLA, to the East Coast where she forged a remarkable reputation as a personal and professional “positive” dog trainer in NYC, Lori’s keen intuition and profound insights have also led her to where she is today, a uniquely talented pet and nature photographer. What makes Lori’s pet photos distinct is her refined and attuned eye for expression, a genuine understanding of the emotional aspect of animals, and her patience and passion to be fully present, allowing the “subject” of her lens to dictate the essence of what is to be captured. As she herself describes the philosophy behind her technique: Having been on the other side of the camera (Discover Channel’s “Amazing Tails”) Lori has an empathetic advantage when it comes to understanding her subjects. Her extensive education and training in animal behavior coupled with superb mentoring in photography (Harold Feinstein; Tony Passera) provide her with a combination of talents rarely found today in commercial and pet portrait photographers. Lori works in the NY tri-state area, and specializes in both dog and cat photography as well as botanicals. She produces canvas pet portraits, calendars, greeting cards, and has been published in multi-media arenas.
